“Regular Show”
is one of those odd Cartoon Network series which walks the line between
entertainment for children and for adults, mostly due to the irreverence in the
show’s sense of humor. It is intentionally odd, with a type of logic that
adheres only to the mind of a child or pot-head, which seems to be the target
audience. This isn’t likely to be a universal hit, but the fans tend to be
loyally dedicated to the series. Having a release for a show with fans is a double-edged
sword, however, because they may be more likely to make a purchase but also
tend to have higher expectations.
These single-disc themed releases of
“Regular Show” and “Adventure Time” are never as satisfying as their often
misleading titles imply. While this collection does have more Rigby episodes
than not, I can’t say that I watch many episodes of the show which don’t
include the raccoon sidekick. Even if it was just a matter of including
episodes featuring the raccoon, this set would fail for lack of care. The
episode ordering doesn’t even make sense, leading me to believe that they just
randomnly assembled 16 episodes of the popular show for senseless consumerism. There
are no special features.
The episodes included are:
Bank
Shot
Don
Fortune Cookie
Rigby in the Sky with Burrito
Return of Mordecai and the Rigbys
Wall Buddy
Survival Skills
One Pull Up
Temp Check
Trash Boat
A Bunch of Full Grown Geese
Journey to the Bottom of the Crash Pit
The Heart of a Stuntman
Fool Me Twice
Rigby’s Body
